We are looking for an exceptional, experienced English Teacher to join our Morven Campus (Grades 8-12). The ideal candidate is a caring and passionate educator who revels in the craft and power of language. Both engaging and innovative, the candidate is a collaborative educator who demonstrates excellence in instructional and assessment practices and who is committed to ongoing professional growth. The candidate will contribute to the many facets of school life, which will include coaching and extra-curricular responsibilities. This is a Temporary Contract position from August 28, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Deliver the BC Ministry of Education’s English Language Arts Curricula at or beyond Ministry requirements
- Create a learning environment that enables individual learners to thrive – through adaptation and differentiation – within a highly motivated learning environment
- Collaborate to design innovative lessons that allow learners to build curricular competencies through accessing rich, relevant and challenging content
- Teach both Middle (8–9) Humanities and Senior (10–12) English classes; this may include a role as a grade team and/or AP course leader
- Engage in ongoing professional development; motivated and willing to take risks in the implementation of new pedagogical and assessment practice
- Experience teaching AP Capstone Seminar, AP Literature or AP Language & Composition is an asset
- All colleagues also fulfill the role of advisor teacher or Community FLEX lead as assigned.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor of Education; a Master’s degree or equivalent is an asset
- Experience teaching English at the Grade 8 -12 level; Advanced Placement training and experience is an asset
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills
- BC Teaching Certification
- Basic First Aid
- Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada

The current 2025-26 faculty grid annual salary range for this position is *$75,322 to $112,169 based on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education. Faculty with a Masters will be paid at a higher range. *The 2026-27 faculty grid will be confirmed late April.
