The 2026-27 faculty grid for this position is $75,461 to $116,035 based on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education. Faculty with a Master’s will be paid at a higher range.
Do you believe music has the power to transform students, build community, and bring learning to life? Mulgrave School is seeking an experienced and inspiring IB Diploma Programme Music Teacher to join our dynamic Performing Arts team.
This role is ideal for a passionate educator who thrives in a collaborative environment, loves ensemble music-making, and is excited to shape a vibrant music programme across Grades 6–12. You will teach IB DP Music while supporting a flourishing co-curricular programme that performs regularly and tours to festivals such as Banff, Sun Peaks, and Whistler.

The Opportunity
As DP Music Teacher, you will:
- Teach IB Diploma Programme Music and contribute to the broader Upper School Performing Arts programme
- Create a supportive, inquiry-driven learning environment that integrates music technology
- Inspire students through engaging instruction, effective assessment, and strong classroom practice
- Support and lead co-curricular music programmes before and after school
- Build a joyful, inclusive music community rooted in ensemble performance
- Provide leadership in concert preparation, tours, special events, and performances
- Maintain an organised, stimulating, and well-respected music learning space
- Collaborate with the Director of Performing Arts, administration, and colleagues on the ongoing development of the MYP integrated performing arts programme
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills, time management, and a commitment to continuous professional growth

Required Qualifications
- Eligible to work in Canada (or willing to apply for the appropriate visa with school support)
- Eligible for, or willing to obtain, BC teacher certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Music or Music Education and a Bachelor of Education (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience teaching music in IB programmes
Strong conducting skills - Experience teaching integrated performing arts courses (music, dance, and theatre)
- Experience in a technology-rich teaching environment
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
Preferred Experience and Qualities
- Background supporting band and/or choral programmes
- Involvement with the IB Educator Network (Workshop Leader, Examiner, etc.)
- Strong organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
- Ability to work independently while thriving as part of a collaborative team

The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience in accordance with BC labour laws and company policies.
