The 2026-27 faculty grid for this position is $75,461 to $116,035 based on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education. Faculty with a Master’s will be paid at a higher range.

We are seeking a Digital Learning & AI Specialist—a forward-thinking educator who ensures technology, and especially artificial intelligence, meaningfully enhances teaching, learning, and student wellbeing.

This is a teaching-focused leadership role with a reduced classroom load, offering strategic ownership of Digital Literacy & Citizenship (DLC) and AI integration across the IB MYP and DP (Grades 6–12).

The Role

You will be the lead architect and instructor of AI and digital literacy education for students and faculty, working as a teacher-coach alongside colleagues to integrate technology intentionally and effectively.

Key Focus Areas

  • AI Leadership: Develop AI literacy for students and lead faculty professional learning; maintain AI use and academic integrity guidelines
  • Digital Literacy & Citizenship: Design and oversee the Grades 6–12 DLC curriculum, embedded across subjects, Advisory, and student life
  • Faculty Coaching: Support teachers in using AI, LMS tools, and learning systems to personalise learning while promoting balance and wellbeing
  • Learning Systems: Serve as the pedagogical lead for the LMS (Toddle preferred) and Google Workspace
  • Teaching & Co-Curriculars: Teach classes aligned to expertise; lead tech-based co-curriculars and LEAP electives
  • Robotics & STEM: Lead FIRST/FLL Robotics and support innovation in coding, engineering, and emerging technologies

Required Qualifications:

  • Canadian resident and legally entitled to work in Canada (Citizen, PR, or valid work permit)
  • Undergraduate degree, ideally in Educational Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Hold or be willing to obtain an age-appropriate First Aid Certificate
  • Have demonstrated successful experience with:  
    • Applying generative AI in an educational context
    • teaching digital literacy and citizenship topics to youth
    • leading or supporting competitive robotics teams (FIRST, FLL, VEX, etc.).
    • LMS platforms (Toddle preferred) and Google Workspace.
      collaborating with teachers to integrate technology in the classroom 

*Note: though not a requirement, candidates with current BC teacher certification (or who meet all requirements to obtain certification) are strongly preferred

While not a requirement of this position, Preferred Experience and Qualities:

  • Experience with VEX robotics, Lego Mindstorms, TinkerCAD, 3D printing, virtual reality, electronics such as Micro: Bit and other STEM-based technologies
  • Experience teaching an IB MYP or DP core subject
  • Graduate degree or diploma in Educational Technology, Computer Science, or closely related field
  • Strong understanding of coding and computer programming fundamentals
  • Experience teaching Computer Science or a related subject
  • Knowledge and understanding of International Baccalaureate programmes, especially the MYP and/or DP 
  • Involvement with the IB Educator Network as a Workshop Leader, Examiner, etc. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong leadership, organisational, communication, administrative and interpersonal skills

The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience in accordance with BC labour laws and company policies.
