We are looking for experienced School Age Care Workers’ to join our Wentworth Campus (JK – Grade 5). This position will work within the school age program and facilitate activities for children ages JK to Grade 5. The ideal candidates will be passionate and committed educators who can demonstrate the ability to contribute to the many facets of school life. It is a Temporary Contract position from September 2, 2025 to June 12, 2026 with the possibility of continuing in the future. This position reports directly to the Director of External Programs. 

Available shifts include:

1. Junior Kindergarten Room (20 hrs/week):

  • Monday to Friday 12:45-4:45p
  • Early Childhood Education required
  • Eligible for benefits

2. Junior Kindergarten Room (13.75 hrs/week):

  • Monday to Friday 1:45p-4:30p
  • Early Childhood Education required

3. Kindergarten Room (15 hrs/week):

  • Monday to Friday 2:15p-5:15p

Responsibilities:

  • Follow the licensing regulations and the School Age Care Handbook 
  • Interact directly with the children and staff members 
  • Assist with the planning and set up of the School Age Care program to ensure that the children have a variety of activities to choose from
  • Establish and maintain positive communication with parents
  • Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean environment, including all activity areas 
  • Ensure that all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained according to licensing and Collingwood requirements 
  • Release children only to those authorized by parent/guardian 
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to Collingwood School, the children, their families, and staff 
  • Maintain regular attendance, punctuality and professionalism at all times 
  • Ensure fire, earthquake and wildlife sighting drills are up to date 

Required qualifications:

  • A valid First Aid certificate (Standard First Aid is preferred)
  • A valid Early Childhood Education Diploma/Certificate required for the JK position
  • Accountability, maturity and a high level of responsibility  
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in a school or child care setting.
  • Courses in working with children are an asset
  • Excellent management, organizational, interpersonal and relationship skills 
  • Creative flexibility and ability to work in a student-centered environment 
  • Ability to build collaborative and effective relationships with students, staff, parents and the community 
  • Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada
