We are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor – Junior School to join our Facilities Department. This role oversees campus facilities by supervising campus facilities staff and contractors, completing and coordinating maintenance and event‑support tasks, responding to emergencies, and performing hands-on repairs, requiring strong technical, physical, and organizational skills along with relevant experience and certifications.
This is a Permanent Full Time position that will start March 3, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Supervision and training of campus facility staff
- Dispatch and supervision on school authorized contractors for outsourced repairs and maintenance on work with estimated values of less than $5000 per occurrence
- Monitoring/Coordination and Execution of work orders with estimated values of less than $1000 per occurrence.
- Minor HVAC, carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs
- Interior/exterior painting of Collingwood School properties
- Coordination of event set up duties for both small and large functions with school administration
- Moving and assembly of furnishings
- Assistance in school traffic control services as per requests from the Manager of Facilities and Transports as well as school administration
- Snow and ice removal from all school properties
- Responding to emergency maintenance requests as required
- Responding to radio calls as required
- Other reasonable requests or directions from either the Director of Facilities or school leadership
- 24/7 on call in the event of a campus emergency
Required qualifications
- Familiarity with operations of a digital work order system
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 3 years’ previous experience in a building maintenance setting (preferably in an Educational, Institutional or Hospitality setting)
- British Columbia Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent)
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends if required
- Must possess strong English verbal and written skills
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all climates
- Physical ability necessary to carry out strenuous maintenance
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Demonstrate ability to organize work and carry out with independence.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively under general supervision.
- Ability to operate power tools as needed.
- Experience in electrical, plumbing & carpentry an asset
- Basic First Aid
- Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada
