Director of Information Technology 
Permanent, Full-Time (1.0 FTE), starting date: April 2026

Position Summary: 
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for the day-to-day operation of our Information Technology department which includes infrastructure, system administration, networks, user support and help desk functions. The Director of IT will work in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and maintain a technology strategy which supports our operational and educational needs. 

Key Responsibilities & Expectations:  

Strategic Leadership 

  • Provide technology vision and leadership including strategic and tactical planning aligned with the strategic plan.
  • Support the SLT through the assessment of current technology and make recommendations for change.
  • Identify and analyze school requirements to design and facilitate cost-effective solutions. 
  • Analyze business requirements and provide advice for the implementation of new solutions.

Infrastructure and Systems Architecture

  • Development of the software application and hardware/cloud infrastructure roadmap.
  • Oversee the design and maintenance of the server environment, network, storage, LAN/WAN, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Manage the lifecycle and maintenance of all hardware (workstations, laptops, servers).
  • Perform planning, scheduling, and configuration of virtual environments and peripheral devices.
  • Lead the implementation and delivery of the school’s database management system modernization project.

Cybersecurity, Risk and Compliance

  • Implement and monitor security protocols to ensure data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations. 
  • Oversee the monitoring of network, server, and security issues.
  • Develop and update all technology policies and procedures to ensure best practices.

Operational and Financial Management

  • Manage technology capital and operating expenditures (CAPEX/OPEX) aligned with the school budget.
  • Maintain a high-functioning Technology team to ensure high-level customer service.
  • Develop IT staff to meet the changing needs of academic and operational users.
  • Manage vendor relationships and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Evaluate, purchase, and implement hardware and software as needed. 

Academic & Cross-Functional Management

  • Work closely with Academic Directors to plan and execute the delivery of classroom technologies.
  • Support all academic and business programs within the school as they relate to technology.
  • Assess the effectiveness of technology processes to ensure requirements are analyzed and implemented.
  • Work collaboratively with educational technology leads and School directors in supporting student learning.
  • Work with the education technology leads, to ensure support for both students and faculty. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of related managerial experience.
  • Experience creating information technology strategies.
  • Ability to plan and lead technology focused projects.
  • Proficiency in network architecture, data access controls, and system scalability. 
  • Thorough knowledge of network security and protocols using best practices.
  • Ability to work strategically, creatively, and effectively to support the Senior Leadership Team in meeting School goals. 
  • Knowledge of systems integration theory and best practices.
  • Strong analytical, organization, and time-management skills. 
  • Experience supervising and delivering excellent help desk and end-user support.
  • Ability to pivot between being hands on and strategic, as needed.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and a productive team member.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into technical design specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and to provide leadership within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail, as well as the capacity to be a proactive and analytical problem solver. 
  • Ability to conduct research, prepare, and present reports.

Salary: 
Annual salary range: $100,800 – $151,200. 

Criminal Record Check: 
Must pass and maintain a clear Solicitor General criminal record check for the purpose of working with children.
