Learning Innovation & Systems Specialist

Position Overview
King David High School is seeking an experienced, dynamic educator to join our team as an Innovative Learning & Technology Specialist. This unique role blends classroom teaching with a leadership focus on enhancing teaching and learning through technology. The successful candidate will teach up to three technology-focused courses aligned with the British Columbia Curriculum, drawing on their expertise and passion for student-centred learning.
In addition to teaching, this educator will work closely with our faculty to integrate digital tools, AI applications, and our Learning Management System (Toddle) to elevate instructional practice. Knowledge of Veracross is considered an asset. This is an opportunity to shape the future of learning, support teachers, and foster a culture of innovation at our school.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Teach up to three tech-focused courses aligned with BC Curriculum, personalized to student interests and skill levels.
- Design innovative, inquiry-driven learning experiences that integrate technology meaningfully.
- Model best practices in digital pedagogy and encourage student creativity through tech-based projects.
EdTech Leadership & Support
- Collaborate with teachers to enhance instruction using digital tools, AI, and data-driven strategies.
- Working closely with our Director of Teaching and Learning, provide ongoing support, coaching, and professional development on the effective use of Toddle and other educational platforms.
- Serve as a resource for integrating technology across the curriculum, identifying emerging trends and tools.
- Oversee Veracross, ensuring accurate reporting, attendance tracking, and efficient data workflows.
- Support workflow and operational needs for the Finance, Communications, and Advancement departments, optimizing processes and leveraging innovative solutions.
Culture & Collaboration
- A positive, approachable, and collaborative team member.

- Build strong relationships with students, faculty, and the broader school community.
Qualifications & Attributes
- Proven classroom experience and success in teaching technology-focused courses. (Qualified BC-certified teacher.)
- Strong understanding of BC Curriculum and the Understand By Design framework.
- Experience integrating technology in teaching and learning, including AI tools.
- Familiarity with Toddle and Veracross is an asset.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative and team-oriented.
