Salary: $80,000–$115,000 (commensurate with experience)

Position Overview:

St. George’s School is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven professional to serve as our Advancement Officer – Alumni Relations.

This is a pivotal and exciting moment for our school. We are preparing to launch our first-ever endowment campaign. This ambitious and transformational initiative will carry Saints toward our Centennial in 2030 and position the school for its next century of impact. The Advancement Officer – Alumni Relations will play an important role in helping to build the engagement and philanthropic momentum that will shape this next chapter.

This role is the ideal blend of strategic communicator, event leader, and front-line engagement specialist. The successful candidate will coordinate alumni engagement initiatives, serve as the liaison between the Alumni Association and the school, and actively manage and grow a portfolio of alumni donors. The position includes domestic travel and may include occasional international travel to support alumni engagement and advancement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Alumni Engagement & Events

  • Develop and implement a thoughtful alumni engagement strategy aligned with advancement priorities.
  • Plan and execute alumni events, including reunions, regional gatherings, networking receptions, and virtual programming.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Alumni Association and St. George’s, ensuring strong partnership and communication.
  • Build meaningful relationships with alumni across generations and geographic regions.
  • Represent Saints as a visible and enthusiastic ambassador at school and alumni events.

Advancement & Fundraising

  • Serve as a front-line fundraiser, managing a portfolio of alumni prospects and donors.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual and major gift prospects.
  • Partner with the Director of Advancement in support of annual giving initiatives and the upcoming endowment campaign.
  • Maintain accurate records of engagement and donor activity to support thoughtful stewardship and long-term relationship building.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the communications team to develop compelling alumni outreach.
  • Ensure alignment between alumni engagement efforts and broader advancement strategy.
  • Use data and engagement metrics to inform planning and strengthen participation.
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in alumni relations, advancement, fundraising, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in building relationships and engaging donors.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and event-planning abilities.
  • Strategic thinker who can execute effectively.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.
  • Experience working with CRM and engagement platforms such as Graduway, NXT, or Blackbaud is considered an asset but not required.
