Early Childhood Educator – Classroom Support and After School Program

Part Time – Fridays Only When School is in Session – September 5, 2025 – June 19, 2026 

Start date:  September 5, 2025        

Location: North Vancouver

Brockton School is seeking a registered Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to support program delivery within the Junior Kindergarten classroom and to run our after school child care program, called Cub Care, which consists of a small group of 4-5 year old children.  This position is essential in ensuring all students who need it are in well-structured, safe, and fun programming until a parent or guardian is able to pick them up from school. 

The hours are 10:45am-5:45pm on Fridays.

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • BC ECE registration
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Interest in being part of a dynamic and visionary IB school community 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Places student needs at the center of decision making
  • Brings different perspectives, voices, and worldviews to the classroom learning experience, including those of Indigenous, local, and global populations
  • Promotes a safe and inclusive environment through strong relationship building and classroom management
  • Supports the planning, organization, and implementation of engaging lessons
  • Fosters a love of learning and an environment that encourages all students to develop and fulfill their academic potential
  • Regularly communicates with the lead teacher regarding student observations, student progress, and student behaviours
  • Manages communication to ensure all Cub Care participants are accounted for and dismissed in a safe manner
  • Models behaviours, attitudes, and principals for students in all contexts
  • Follows licensing regulations and the Junior Kindergarten Handbook
  • Other duties as assigned by the divisional Principal

 

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

  • Valid First Aid certificate
  • IB experience or training (preferred)
  • Preference for a minimum of two years of experience working with early years aged children
  • High EQ skills, possess the ability to be self-aware
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and administrative skills
  • The ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills
