Brockton School is a nondenominational coeducational Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12, independent school, located in North Vancouver, British Columbia. The following position is available for expressions of interest:
Early Childhood Educator (ECE Worker) Part Time – minimum 15 hours 45 minutes per week when school is in session
Reporting to the Director of Junior School, this position works collaboratively with the school’s faculty, and administration.
This part time contract for the 2026-2027 school year has the following hours of work:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 2:45-5:45pm
Wednesday: 2:00-5:45pm
Brockton School is currently seeking a part-time Early Childhood Educator (ECE worker) to support our Cub Care program. Cub Care bridges the end of the formal learning day with a safe, inclusive world of play, friendship, and discovery. The ECE Worker will collaborate with Faculty and Staff members and parents of students in Cub Care.
Requirements:
❏ Current valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certificate
❏ Minimum of two years of experience with early year and/or primary aged children
❏ High EQ skills, possess the ability to be self-aware
❏ Strong problem-solving, organizational, and administrative skills
❏ The ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills

Expectations include but are not limited to:
- Attendance tracking of Cub Care attendees
- Placing student needs at the center of decision making
- Bringing different perspectives, voices, and worldviews to the classroom experience, including those of Indigenous, local, and global populations
- With student safety as a priority, scheduling events and activities for up to 8 children
- Leading and facilitating activities from when class ends until students are picked up
- Models behaviours, attitudes, and principals for students in all contexts
- Promoting a safe and inclusive environment through strong relationship building and classroom management
- Maintaining positive relationships with students and their families
- Manage communications to ensure up to date information is accurate on dismissal times, pickup times, flexibility when dealing with families
- Supporting teachers in transitioning students from class time to after school
- Maintaining regular communication with Junior Kindergarten teachers to ensure students are supported
- Communicating with the Director of Junior School
- Monitoring resources and communicate when supplies are needed
- Other duties as assigned by the Director
Wage Range: Brockton Early Childhood Educator Wage
$25.00-$35.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
