Houseparent (Allard house – female student house)
Are you someone who would like to further immerse yourself in school life at an independent school? Our Houseparents and Assistant Houseparents have the privilege of developing and deepening life-long relationships with our students. This role is typically coupled with an existing role at Brentwood, but we welcome all experienced applicants. This role starts after the end of this school year.
Key Responsibilities
Our Houseparents provide a safe, caring and empathic “home away from home” for the students in their care and within our Brentwood Community. This is a live on campus position with responsibilities spanning boarding house safety, weekly duties, communication with parents and guardians to chaperoning off campus outings and supervising school events and social activities. As a boarding school, we serve and support our students 7 days a week so day, evening and weekend work is required. Please see the Position Profile for a full description of the role.

Compensation:
This role is paid a stipend of $15,000 plus the release from an academic block or co-curricular assignment (For certified teachers, this is valued at $13,603 to $21,470 based on years of experience).
Education / Experience:
- Post-secondary degree
- B.Ed. or equivalent in progress of completed is preferred
- Ability to coach/instruct in at least one of our co-curricular areas is an asset

- Criminal Record Check clearance is a condition of initial and ongoing employment.
- Must be legally and immediately entitled to work in Canada
- Room and Board forms part of the compensation package as a taxable benefit
