We have an opportunity in March 2025 in our Preschool for an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) (position profile can be found here).

Aberdeen Hall provides
- Competitive annual salary of $49,334 to $59,892, inclusive of vacation pay and the BC government wage enhancement.Commensurate with education and years of teaching experience.
- 14 weeks of vacation (or 8 weeks of vacation with the commitment of working in our out-of-session camps with additional compensation included).

Position Summary
The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) plays a vital role in creating a nurturing and developmentally enriching environment that supports children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. Reporting to the Director of Preschool, the ECE is responsible for implementing a Montessori-inspired curriculum, fostering strong and supportive relationships with families, and collaborating with colleagues to cultivate a warm, inclusive, and engaging preschool community.
Success Factors
- Certified Early Childhood Educator (ECE) and a valid BC license to practice.
- Montessori Training or willing to obtain it.
Past experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or similar setting. - Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Clearance of a Criminal Record Check.
- Experience in an Independent School would be an asset.
- A Class 4 Driver’s License would be an asset.
- Completion of the Ages & Stages Questionnaire Training would be an asset.
- Completion of the Circle of Security Training would be an asset.
Strong Knowledge of BC’s Early Learning Framework and child development practices. - Computer Skills: Google Classroom, docs, sheets, slides, and Gmail.
- Strong Knowledge of the ECEBC Code of Ethics.
- Strong Knowledge of the BC Child Care Licensing Regulations.
- Ability to understand the importance of emotional intelligence and empathy in building trust and contributing to a positive working atmosphere across the School community.
- Known to communicate, negotiate, collaborate, and build partnerships effectively.
