Mandarin-Speaking Student Support Assistant (Full-Time)
Island Pacific School (Bowen Island, BC) is seeking a full-time Mandarin-speaking support assistant to work closely with a Grade 7 student, providing daily guidance and helping them integrate fully into school life.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the student in navigating classroom routines, assignments, and activities.
• Translating between Mandarin and English to support communication with teachers and peers.
• Assisting with organization, homework, and day-to-day school tasks.
• Encouraging social interaction, independence, and confidence in an
• English-speaking environment.
• Collaborating with teachers and staff to ensure the student’s academic and social success.

Qualifications:

Fluency in Mandarin and English (spoken and written).

Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or support role.

Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and cultural sensitivity.

A collaborative, flexible, and supportive approach to working within a small school community.

This is a full-time, in-person position during the school year (Monday–Friday), with occasional participation in school events and activities.
