Join Our Team as a Boarding Faculty Assistant

Are you passionate about education, mentorship, and making a difference in the lives of young people? Brentwood College School is seeking dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our boarding and educational community as Boarding Faculty Assistants for the 2025-26 school year. You will join us in the last week of August for orientation and training before the students arrive.

About the Role

As a Boarding Faculty Assistant (BFA), you’ll play a vital role in creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment for our students. From assisting in boarding house operations to supporting our athletic, arts, and academic programs, this position is ideal for recent B.Ed graduates eager to begin a career in education or youth development. This role is also perfect for those exploring a career in education who are taking a purposeful Gap Year.

This role is ideal for individuals seeking a short-term, immersive experience in education and youth development to discover what they are passionate about. The position is active during the school year (approximately 33 weeks at 6 days per week with approximately 6 paid weeks off over Winter and March Breaks), providing a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience while contributing to a vibrant boarding school community. A second-year opportunity with employee benefits and pension are generally available to team members who communicate a desire to stay and who have demonstrated dedication and strong contributions during their first year.

What You’ll Do:

Boarding House Support: Live in a boarding house and assist with daily routines, including wake-ups, bedtimes, and weekend supervision

Campus Activities: Supervise events, chaperone trips, and ensure smooth campus operations

Academic Support: Provide classroom assistance, tutoring, and co-teaching opportunities

Sports & Arts: Support athletic or arts programs three afternoons per week

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A passion for working with students (Grades 8-12)
  • A post-secondary degree (in progress or recently completed preferred)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in sport, visual or performing arts, or camp leadership (an asset)
  • First Aid certification (will provide if not certified)
  • Lifeguard certifications (an asset)
  • Eligibility to work in Canada and a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Clearance required

  • Criminal Record Check clearance is a condition of initial and ongoing employment
  • Must be legally and immediately entitled to work in Canada
  • Two roles available housed in one of two separate suites or in one larger suite for a couple
