Founded in 1908, SMS is an international centre for girl-centered learning and leadership development, providing empowering education for girls from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 (boarding grades 7–12). St. Margaret’s School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) School offering the Diploma Program.
The Individuals & Societies (Humanities) and Language & Literature (English) Teacher is responsible for delivering dynamic, inquiry-based instruction within the BC Curriculum. Experience in teaching the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework is an asset. Teaching responsibilities include Social Studies, English First Peoples (Writing and Literary Studies), and Social Studies. The role emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, culturally responsive pedagogy, and the integration of Indigenous perspectives—particularly through the exploration of storytelling, identity, and place. Essential to this role is a commitment to engaging student learning with the overall mission and vision of the school; this includes the proven use of innovative instructional strategies through designing and implementing interdisciplinary units of study anchored in an inquiry approach. Key to this role is a motivation to work in an environment that develops competent, confident, and courageous students within an inclusive, girl-centered learning environment.
Our school’s motto “service with love” embraces both individual pursuits and shared responsibilities.
