Sharing the YHS Spirit of Giving with Ronald McDonald House Families

This year as part of York House School’s community service initiatives we collaborated with Ronald McDonald House BC. Ronald McDonald House provides a home for families who have travelled from distances to seek care for their ill children at BC Children’s Hospital. Its mission is to keep families together during tough times and surround them with a warm community full of love and support. It is a place where magic happens and where people from all different places, backgrounds, and ages connect under one roof to support one another. This year, before the Yorkies went off for the holidays, YHS initiated the “Share your Warmth and Support for Ronald McDonald Families this Holiday Season” project by creating holiday bags in TAGs. Each TAG prepared one bag that went to a family in the house. We filled the themed bags with goodies, trinkets, games/activities for the families to bring with them to the hospital and kind words in cards.

Thank you for supporting the Ronald McDonald House organization this holiday season. The families were so excited and grateful to receive over 40 bags during their annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
