GNS Students get GOing with PHE

Students in our Middle and Senior Schools have been tackling a new Physical and Health Education (PHE) challenge to stay physically active. Grade 6 to Grade 12 students are participating in PHE GO! (Gryphons Online!) Bingo as they aim to complete at least two lines of activities on an exercise-themed Bingo card.
There is a wide range of activities for students to choose from, including:

  • 30 to 45-minute run/walk
  • 30-minute kickboxing/boxercise
  • 30-minute yoga class
  • Walk 10,000 steps on a Fitbit or step tracker
  • Create and complete an in-home obstacle course
  • And much more!

The PHE GO! Bingo initiative gives students the chance to show off skills they may already have, or to try something new while staying active. Students were tasked with completing two lines on their bingo card by April 16, but were also challenged to complete as many additional activities as they can.

Students can use their PHE block to complete their tasks students. This gives them the opportunity to be active, but also to step away from technology and get a fresh air break. After a quick check-in for attendance at the start of their PHE block, students are released so they can get at least 30 to 45 minutes of activity in before starting their next class.
