Start the new school year off with a day of networking, learning and great conversations. You can find out more http://isabc.edcamp.ca and register http://isabc.edcamp.ca/registration/ or keep on reading.

How it works

The EdCamp will kick-off with coffee, conversation, a blank session board, and an invitation for you to fill it with topics that interest you. You will be amazed at the wide variety of conversation sparking sessions that begin to fill the board. Start thinking, because you will be able recommend and then select the sessions that you want to attend. The rule of an unconference is to “vote with your feet”. If a session does not meet your needs, simply get up and move on to another room! We will break for a BBQ lunch on the scenic Southpointe veranda, and when we’re done with sessions, we will close out the day with an Edu Slam. Bring your best ideas and websites to share!

Session Ideas

One thing that makes the EdCamp unconference model unique is that the people attending also facilitate the sessions on teaching and learning. So the ISABC EdCamp won’t succeed without you! If a session you recommend gets enough interest it will be assigned a room, and you will be asked to get the conversation started.  You don’t need a fancy presentation; in fact, sessions are often more beneficial when they are a conversation, with someone starting the discussion and everyone else jumping in.  Graphics may help to explain your ideas, but please, no bulleted lists!!  If you are considering presenting at the ISABC Pro-D day in February this would be a good chance to try out your ideas in an informal setting.
You can get a head start on sharing presentation ideas by adding to our Idea Board: http://isabc.edcamp.ca/idea-board/
Even if you are not sure you want to create/lead a session, we know that you will have plenty to share and contribute to the discussions!
If you have any questions send us a note via the website contact page: http://isabc.edcamp.ca/contact/
If you are planning on attending we ask that you register so that we know how many to expect for lunch: http://isabc.edcamp.ca/registration/
Hope to see you there,
