St. Margaret’s School joins with the family and friends of Vic Clayton to mourn his passing on Sunday, July 18, 2021.

During his tenure of Head of School from 1990 to 2007, Vic was known for his tremendous dedication to progressive and student-centered education. He led a robust program of growth for the school, expanded the reach of SMS internationally and at home, and oversaw the development of new administrative, residence, athletic, and academic buildings. Vic was known and loved for his good cheer. He knew every single student by name, and he fostered an environment of caring and inclusivity at St. Margaret’s School.

“Victor Clayton’s vision for this school will always be integral to our path forward at St. Margaret’s. We offer our deep condolences to his family,” says Shelley McClure, Assistant Head, Operations.

Vic’s memory will continue to be reflected in the lives of students, colleagues, families of St. Margaret’s School, and the ISABC community. Our thoughts are with his wife Sherry and family.
