We are seeking an Intermediate Homeroom Teacher to join our Wentworth Campus (JK to Grade 7). The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and engaging educator who will demonstrate the ability to contribute to the many facets of school life. This is a Temporary Contract position for the 2022-23 school year that starts on August 25, 2023.
Responsibilities
- Build collaborative and effective relationships with students, staff, parents and the community
- Deliver the curriculum as per the BC Ministry
- Ensure that the individual learning needs of each student are met
- Establish a respectful and safe environment for the children
- Collaborate with other members of faculty within the grade team and school to create innovative lessons and units that embrace the design thinking framework
- Attend regular Professional Development to strengthen and inform practice
Required qualifications
- Bachelor of Education
- Experience teaching at the elementary school level
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills
- BC Teaching Certification
- Basic First Aid
- Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred qualifications and experiences
- Exceptional teaching skills, with a creative approach
- Have an aptitude in differentiated learning styles and approaches
- Knowledge of the BC curriculum
- Skilled in the use of technology
- A passion for ongoing learning and professional development
