Campus Shop Associate 

Permanent, Part-Time (0.75 FTE) starting as soon as possible

The Campus Shop Associate coordinates the smooth operation of the Campus Shop, providing high quality customer service and monitoring inventory to ensure sufficient stock to meet the needs of our community. This position is responsible for both the on-campus and online stores. 

 

Work Schedule: 

Regular hours of work are 9:00-4:00 on all school days, and the last two weeks of August. This position works more flexible hours from July 1 to August 14, depending upon when shipments of inventory arrive. The shop is closed during holiday breaks with the exception of Labour Day weekend. 

 

Responsibilities include: 

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the campus shop and online store. 
Responds to queries and goes the extra mile to support sales. 
Responsible for organization and display of merchandise. 
Maintains inventory including uniforms and other merchandise. 
Processes payments and refunds. 
Reconciles sales and cash receipts. 
Processes online orders. 
Orders stationary supplies for employees. 
Manages yearend inventory count and reconciliation process. 
Oversees casual sales associates hired for peak sales and inventory periods. 
Keeps up to date with uniform requirements in order to advise parents on purchases. 
Manages online appointment booking system to coordinate student and family uniform appointments. 
Other duties as required. 
 

The successful candidate will have the following skills, background and interest: 

This position requires a high school diploma along with a minimum one years’ experience in retail sales including POS transactions. 
Knowledge of merchandising and the ability to create attractive displays. 
Proven sales skills.  
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers. 
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills. 
Enthusiastic, energetic, a self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team environment. 
Strong computer skills. 
Capacity to work at a moderate to high level of physical effort including the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds. 
Experience with online stores would be an asset. 

 

Pay Range:  

Hourly pay range: $23.34 – $27.46. 

 

Criminal Record Check: 

Must pass and maintain a clear Solicitor General criminal record check for the purpose of working with children.
