We have a new opportunity for an enthusiastic Senior Advancement Associate to join the collaborative Advancement Team at St. Michaels University School (SMUS) in Victoria, BC. In this new role, the Senior Advancement Associate will be joining an independent and not-for-profit school with a local and global reputation for excellence. You will be building lasting relationships with their community by utilizing your very strong communication skills and helping to contribute to the successful creation and delivery of SMUS’ Annual Fund campaign.

Reporting to the Annual Fund Manager, the Senior Advancement Associate is a highly motivated and strategic fundraising professional. This role is pivotal in executing the St Michaels University School’s (SMUS) annual appeal and supporting the Annual Fund by growing the monthly giving program, increasing parent-donor participation across all grade levels, and developing innovative approaches to engage and cultivate first-time donors.

What could your day as the Senior Advancement Associate hold?
In collaboration with the Annual Fund Manager, developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy for the Annual Fund appeal, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to create compelling fundraising materials, including letters, emails, and multimedia content.
Designing and executing campaigns to promote and grow the monthly giving program, analyzing donor data to identify opportunities for increasing monthly giving participation, and developing and implementing targeted strategies to renew lapsed donors.
Collaborating with the Advancement and Marketing and Communications teams to create content that highlights the impact of donor contributions and encourages renewed support.
Working closely with the school community to identify opportunities to enhance donor participation, focusing on engagement initiatives tailored to each grade level.

Our ideal Senior Advancement Associate brings:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Completion of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Introduction to Fundraising is considered an asset.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a fundraising, development, community relations or sales role is required.
Excellent knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases (Raisers Edge/NXT).
An understanding of Independent school communities and the multi-faceted constituent groups.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Direct mail solicitation or proposal writing skills are an asset.
Project management experience is an asset.
