Exciting Opportunity for an Extraordinary Teacher

Part-time, Fixed-term Contract 

September – June

Crofton House School is currently seeking an Improv Coach to join the Senior School Co-curricular team.

Responsibilities:  
Plan and deliver weekly Improv training to students, grade 8 – 12 (Mondays 3:30- 5:30 pm)
Plan and deliver 2-3 additional workshops for the team as they prepare for competition(s)
Work collaboratively with peer schools to organize/support inter-school Improv games
Act as primary supervisor for students both in weekly improv meetings and at competition(s)
Work in partnership with the teacher sponsors for the Improv Club and Team to promote, plan, and deliver an improv program that meets the needs of both ‘club-level’ involvement and ‘team-level’ (competitive) involvement
Provide mentorship, training, and support to older improv team members as they prepare for the Canadian Improv Games
Support and develop the leadership ability of students leaders
Maintain open communication with the school administration and parents of improv students
Maintain accurate meeting attendance records of students
Be available to meet with the teacher activity sponsor to review progress and future plans
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times
Uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of Crofton House School
Other responsibilities as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience: 
1 – 3 years of experience leading an improv team
Demonstrable awareness of the learning styles of girls and young women
Committed to the craft of teaching, best practices, and standards of professional practice
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
A commitment to continued professional development and growth

Employment and Application Details:
This role is scheduled to start at the end of September.
