The Assistant Director, Admissions supports the Director, Admissions in developing and implementing strategies to attract and admit students who will thrive in the unique opportunity of a Crofton House education regardless of financial circumstances. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that Crofton House continues to be known as an outstanding learning environment where girls are able to discover and pursue their own paths, developing the confidence and capacity to thrive and positively influence the world around them.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Support the development and implementation of a recruitment strategy that attracts and admits girls from a diverse applicant pool
Develop a comprehensive outreach strategy that aligns with the School’s strategic plan that promotes the availability of financial assistance to prospective families
Lead in the analysis and evaluation of data metrics to ensure continuous improvement of overall recruitment and admission initiatives
Contribute to the Admissions Strategic Enrollment Plan and support with the Annual Report to the Board of Governors
Lead outreach initiatives for all grades; maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders and feeder schools
Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team in the development of an internal and external admissions communication and marketing plan
Liaise with division heads to ensure admission assessments and selection criteria are consistent, grade-appropriate and meet the enrolment needs of the School; maintaining relationships with feeder schools and organizations
Actively participate in the assessment, evaluation and selection of candidates in all grades; including conducting interviews, and reviewing applicant files
Manage the Admissions Coordinator and Admissions Assistant in defining admissions procedures and oversight of admissions calendar and events.
Annually evaluate and update, where appropriate, of all aspects of the admissions process
Manage the Student Ambassador Program, Buddy Family Program, and New Family Onboarding Events
Be an active and engaged member of the CHS Community by attending occasional assemblies, school events, class visits and faculty-staff meetings, where appropriate
Collaborate on current enrolment management trends, regionally and as a whole (CAIS, ISABC, NAIS, EMA)
Represent CHS at professional conferences, meetings and events; maintaining relationships with feeder schools and organizational conferences, meetings and events;
Assist in training and development of new team members
Manage other admissions based programs such as a Parent Ambassador program as required
To perform other duties as assigned by the Director

Skills/Attributes:

Familiarity with issues and trends in student recruitment, marketing, and communications is an asset
Demonstrated experience in providing outstanding customer service is essential
Superior attention to detail and excellent planning, project management, and analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience in planning and coordinating large group events and programs
Marketing and sales experience an asset
Previous experience preparing documentation and reports for a Board of Governors
Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines
Proven ability to exercise tact, discretion and good judgment when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum three years experience that includes the development and implementation of a successful recruitment plan in an independent K-12 school or equivalent experience and/or educational institution in a leadership position responsible for recruitment.
