The Controller & HR Assistant is an integral part of the Finance team. Reporting to the CFO/Business Manager & Director of HR, their role is responsible for the oversight of all financial, accounting, payroll activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the CFO/Business Manager & Director of HR with budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. This is a terrific opportunity for a professional who is well-versed in working closely with senior management and thrives in a position of leadership.

What VTT is looking for from you:

  • CPA designation
  • A combination of 3-5 years of managerial accounting and financial management experience, including experience in working with teams/departments, preferably in a highly engaged and fast-paced environment.
  • Professional and strong work ethic
  • 2 years experience of working with Quickbooks & Ceridian Dayforce
  • Strong management and people skills
  • Openness to managing administrative tasks associated with employment contracts and HR (ex. benefits, RRSP’s, etc)
  • Going beyond the basic requirements to “get the job done” in the most effective and efficient way possible
  • Detail oriented and strong organization skills
  • Must be a self-starter, multi-tasker, and excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Team player attitude, understands the importance of maintaining a high communicative environment, offers an inclusive approach with constant care, constant training and communication while fostering a team environment
  • Proficient with systems (i.e.: Microsoft products, google suite)
  • Flexibility to work extended hours if needed
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in human resources preferred
