Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School (KGMS) is a co-educational school located in North Vancouver. Our school provides an exceptional educational experience for students with diverse learning needs. KGMS is currently recruiting for the position of Controller. The controller will work directly with the Head of School. This position plays an integral role in managing the non-educational operations of the school. The controller will oversee the finance department, oversee payroll administration, the maintenance of accounting records and manage all internal and external reporting. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys working as an integral part of a dynamic management team. We are looking for an individual with an accounting designation, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be highly efficient with Excel and be a creative thinker with a focus on efficiency and the capacity for leadership. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Treasury operations
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Business relations with key suppliers
  • Overseeing office functions and maintenance of facilities and technology

Our ideal Controller brings:

  • 5+ years of related full-cycle accounting experience
  • Experience processing or managing payroll
  • Experience using accounting software
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel
