Aspengrove is an independent International Baccalaureate Continuum school, with approximately 285 students ranging from JK3 up to Grade 12. Aspengrove’s campus is situated on 40 acres in Lantzville, BC (neighbouring Nanaimo). Our campus allows our students to explore their interests in the arts, athletics, academics and outdoor endeavours. Aspengrove serves families from Ladysmith to Nanaimo to Qualicum and is the only ISABC school in the region.

Position Overview

Aspengrove School is inviting applications from innovative, creative, and passionate individuals for the position of Marketing & Social Media Coordinator. In consultation with the Director of Advancement, the successful candidate will plan and execute integrated marketing and digital media strategies to enhance Aspengrove’s brand both internally and externally. 

The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys a collaborative and fast-paced office environment and wants to join a growing and active community. As a representative of the school, and working amongst children, this individual will act with a high level of professionalism and tact within and outside of the organization. The ideal candidate can work both independently and as part of a dynamic team and will have strong time management and organizational skills.


Advertising & Marketing 

  • Manage print & digital marketing materials such as advertisements, brochures, posters, invitations, awards, etc. 
  • Schedule and track all print and digital advertising
  • Work with contracted service providers – graphic designer, website development, print houses, etc. and ensure Aspengrove brand guidelines are adhered to
  • Provide some in-house design
  • Manage the sales and assist with school uniform designs

Social Media & Website

  • Keep website current (update photos, write blog posts, update calendar, update and monitor contact forms, etc.)
  • Responsible for the development of a social media calendar, photos, and day-to-day posting across all platforms
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in digital and social media marketing and is adept with using a variety of digital channels for advertising purposes
  • Monitor website statistics/traffic/search engine optimization and analyze data
  • Ensure integrity of Aspengrove’s brand, desired image, and position in the community


  • Manage the design and distribution of weekly eNews (MailChimp)
  • Gather and write information stories to share via the website and social media
  • Assist with key marketing messaging and ensure consistency of the marketing message across all advertising channels
  • Support with writing projects such as community interviews, magazine articles, annual reports, etc. 


  • Up-to-date knowledge of current marketing and social media trends
  • Familiarity and past experience with social media apps including photo editing and scheduling tools such as Hootsuite, Later, and Canva 
  • Strong photography skills (experience with videos an asset)
  • Experienced in developing creative content
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Website experience and familiarity with WordPress
  • Experience with Meta Business Suite including Ads Manager
  • Experience with Google Ads
  • Graphic design experience an asset
  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Social Media & Digital Marketing, Marketing Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • A criminal record check is required for this position 

Additional Details & Benefits

  • Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8 am to 4 pm (start date as soon as possible)
  • Hybrid work during school closures will be considered
  • Comprehensive health and dental plan, and other extended benefits 
  • Salary range, commensurate with experience: $58,000 – $65,000
  • Generous vacation policy
