Queen Margaret’s School is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for Teacher On Call (TOC) positions for the 2023 – 2024 School Year. We are currently accepting applications in all areas, from grades 8 to 12.

Candidates must have completed their Bachelor of Education degree and be members of (or eligible for membership) with the BC Teacher Regulation Branch.  

Responsibilities

As directed, teach engaging and relevant units of study, adhering to the redesigned BC Ministry of Education curriculum and the QMS mission, vision and values
Differentiate to accommodate diverse student learning and language needs
Use technology effectively to support student learning
Create a safe and nurturing classroom environment in which all students feel valued and respected
Bring energy, enthusiasm and a love for learning to the classroom
Be a role model for students at all times in terms of personal actions
Perform other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor of Education degree and membership (or eligibility for membership) with the BC Teacher Regulation Branch
Knowledge of best practice instructional methodologies
Strong knowledge base and experience with differentiated teaching and student-centered assessment practices
Demonstrated experience with innovative practices including the integration of educational technology tools
Demonstrated ability to develop strong learning relationships through the provision of a safe and trusting learning environment
Ability to work effectively in a culturally responsive teaching environment
Understanding of British Columbia’s 8-12 curriculum and the objectives of competency-based education
Highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong organizational and communication skills

Preference will be given to candidates who also have the following skills and qualifications:

Standard First Aid or above
Valid driver’s license and clean driver abstract
