Queen Margaret’s School is currently searching for a highly skilled and creative Director of Academics to join our team. As a Director of Academics, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with senior faculty, department heads, and leadership teams to shape the academic program for students in Grades 8-12.

QMS has a unique mix of day and boarding students from Preschool up to Grade 12, catering to both domestic and international families. It is based on a 30-acre campus in the heart of beautiful Vancouver Island. An overview of the responsibilities of this role includes:

Work collaboratively with senior faculty, department heads, and leadership teams to shape the academic program for students in Grades 8-12.
Ensure that the program meets the highest standards set by the Ministry of Education and CAIS while also fostering a future-forward view of educational practices.
Promote exceptional teaching practices and a student-centered approach to learning.
Inspire students to reach their full potential.
Support the professional development of faculty and staff.
Create inclusive, differentiated, and inquiry-based programs that foster real-world relevance and a competency-based approach.
Help shape the future of education at Queen Margaret’s School.

Requirements:

A passion for education and a commitment to providing an exceptional education to our students.
A recognized teaching degree and a minimum of five years of experience in educational leadership.
A strong understanding of the latest pedagogical practices and educational trends.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
A commitment to fostering an inclusive, differentiated, and student-centered program.
