Position Overview
GNS is seeking a dynamic and strategic Communications and Community Engagement Specialist to lead community engagement, manage media strategy, and support brand awareness initiatives. As an integral part of our Marketing and Communications team, you’ll create compelling content across various channels to amplify our brand in Greater Victoria, use your skills to build collaborative relationships with staff, parents, neighbours, and city stakeholders, and serve as the primary liaison with our community, ensuring positive relationships and transparent communication. What You’ll Bring
You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, English or related field, with at least five years of working experience in this area. A combination of education and experience may be considered. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills and will excel at writing and editing, as well as presenting to various audiences. Preference will be given to candidates who have successfully developed, implemented and led community engagement strategies. Membership in a professional association such as CPRS or IABC is also desired.
